Massachusetts Improves Crossbow Regulations

  July 7, 2003
On June 24th, the Massachusetts Fisheries & Wildlife Board approved regulations that will expand crossbow opportunities to more disabled individuals. Previously, the state of Massachusetts had been labeled "yellow" (or "partially acceptable") on the Coalition crossbow map because they allowed crossbows to be used only be those with paraplegia and Cerebral Palsy. These new regulations will allow any permanently disabled person with a doctor's note to receive a crossbow permit. Because of this change, the Massachusetts will be labeled "green" (or "acceptable") on the Coalition map. The new permits should be available in August.
